Leslie Sloat

of Manchester, MI, age 49, died Friday, July 27, 2018 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Ann Arbor. She was born September 5, 1968 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the daughter of James & Diana (Culp) Sloat.

Leslie graduated from Manchester High School in 1986. She went to school to become a medical assistant. Leslie enjoyed providing home health care for several elderly people in Manchester. She was compassionate, patient, and empathetic to everyone she cared for. She loved to read, and most importantly spend time with her family. Leslie had a contagious laugh, great sense of humor, and bright smile.  Leslie was always willing to support anyone in need and lend a helping hand. She had a strong spiritual belief. She was a loving mother to her children, a devoted daughter, a beloved sister, and a loving spouse. She also loved spending time with her nieces and nephews.

George John Severin

of Ann Arbor, Michigan, age 91, died Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Hillside Terrace, Ann Arbor. He was born January 22, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of George & Ethel Severin.

George was a WWII veteran, serving in the Navy. He was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in St. Clair Shores, Michigan.


On November 9, 1951 he married Rhea Hayes in Detroit, Michigan, and she preceded him in death on November 19, 2006. Survivors include a son, John (Mary Lou) Severin of Gregory, MI; a daughter, Jane (Paul) Severin-Dirkse of Northville, MI; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Adam.

Glendon F. Geer Sr.

of Chelsea, Michigan, age 91, died Tuesday, July 24, 2018 in his home. He was born July 21, 1927 in Howell, Michigan, the son of Herbert & Hazel (Stewart) Geer.

Glen attended Howell High School. He was a WWII veteran, serving with the Army Medics. Glen worked at Hackney Hardware in Dexter for many years. He was a member of the Grass Lake VFW Post 10194, and was a member of St. Andrews United Church of Christ in Dexter. Glen was a long-time square dance caller in the area. He was an avid Euchre player, and loved to bowl.

Beverly Ann (Burmis) Farley

of Munith, age 80, passed away at the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home on Tuesday, July 24th after a battle with ovarian cancer. 

She is survived by her daughter Cindy Brown of Chelsea and son Tim Brown of Munith,  2 sister-in-laws, Joyce (Orville) Harris, Phyllis Venable; 9 grandchildren, Mike (Tiffany) Smith, Susan (Marcus) Maddock, Amanda (Brandon) Hall, Kayla Brown, Rebecca Brown Heather Rodema, Amanda Brown, Ashleigh Boss, Eric (Jamie) Boss, Timmy Cole Jr.; 14 great-granchildren, Michelle, Michael, Joshua, Lilly, and Victoria Smith, Jame Darnell, Xavier, James, and Skylur Boss; a sister-in-law Rose Mary Brown; She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and several cousins.  Bev was preceded in death by her husband of 19 years Lawrence "Norm" Farley, parents Philip and Lillian Burmis, son Jim Brown, daughter Lori Brown and nephew Steven McCrum.

Norman Laverne Hilts

passed away at age 76, Sunday July 8, 2018 at his home. He was born May 29th 1942 in Ann Arbor MI, the son of Vern and Kathryn (Glushyn) Hilts.

Norm served in the US Air force. He retired after 30 years of service from Ford Motor Co. as an engineer. He also did consulting work for Fords, which abled him to travel to Hungary and Korea. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and his biggest love of all was working on cars.
