of Chelsea, Michigan, formerly of Birmingham / Bloomfield Hills, age 95, died Monday, June 6, at Chelsea Retirement Community. She was born January 22, 1921 in Mayfield, Michigan, the daughter of Harry R. & Marion (Gibbs) Sargent. Janet graduated from Traverse City High School in 1937 and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from U of M in 1942. She lived at Martha Cook dorm for 3 years while at U of M, and was an active alumna, attending their 100 year anniversary last October, where she was the oldest alumna present. After graduating, Janet worked for the Michigan Children's Aid Society in Marquette. She raised her family while staying on the Board of the Children's Aid Society. She was active in the United Methodist Church in Birmingham, and spent the last 15 years at Chelsea Retirement Community. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, and very active in choirs throughout the years. Janet was a bird lover, and enjoyed family vacations at Arbutus Lake. She was an avid reader, and ran the CRC Book Club.

of Chelsea, Roger died on Sunday, May 22, 2016 with his family at his side, the day after celebrating his 90th birthday. He was born May 21, 1926 in Slaterville Springs, NY, the son of Leslie Ivan & (Lora) Pauline (Winchell) Crispell. Ann, his wife of 67 years, survives him with two sons, Kray and his son Sean, Gar and his children Madeline and Benjamin; two daughters, Janice and her husband Paul Olejniczak, their sons, Bryce, Kyrt, and Drake, Tracie and her husband Bill Christie, their daughters Ellen and Katie. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Kenneth Crispell MD and Leslie Crispell Jr; and a sister Jean Ballard. Roger served in the US Army Air Corp during WWII. Following a design education at Pratt Institute and five years in Ithaca, NY with his own design business, he spent 40 years with the General Motors Design Center and retired as an Executive Designer in charge of the Industrial Design Studios. He was an accomplished artist, and remained active in retirement.
