Leo A. Hafner

of Pinckney, MI, age 72, died Sunday, August 9, 2015 at University Hospital in Ann Arbor. He was born November 12, 1942 in Chelsea, Michigan, the son of William J. & Mary B. (Honeck) Hafner. Leo was a 1960 graduate of Chelsea High School. He worked at U of M in maintenance, retiring in 1993. Leo enjoyed cruising in his old car. He was a conservationist who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Leo belonged to the Pigeon Club “American Giant Homers Association” and raised rabbits.

William Edward Cox

of Garden City, MI, formerly of Chelsea, age 45, lost his battle with cancer on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at  U of M Hospital. He was born February 6, 1970 in Saginaw, the son of John L. & Mary Ellen Cox.  Ed graduated from Chelsea High School in 1988. He served in the US Air Force before working at iConnect, and later at Tegrit Software Ventures. 

Elizabeth “Betty” Lester

Photo of Elizabeth LesterAge 86, died unexpectedly Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Silver Maples of Chelsea. She was born August 9, 1928 in Berwyn, Illinois, the daughter of Paul Leander & Bessie (Boileau) Bates. Betty graduated with a Bachelors Degree in vocal Music Education of Arts from Cornell College in Iowa, and received her Masters in Music from the University of Michigan.  She taught vocal music while in college. Betty sang in the choir at the First United Methodist Church in Ann Arbor for over 45 years, where she and Jim were long-time members. 

Clotine "Bobbie" Aldrich

Of Grand Rapids, Michigan, formerly of Chelsea, age 79, died Thursday, August 6, 2015 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  She was born May 11, 1936 in Salyersville, Kentucky, the daughter of Amos & Frances (Bailey) Auxier.   Bobbie was a member of Faith Baptist church for many years. She also attended Dexter Gospel for several years.

Margaret Ann Ouendag

of Chelsea, Michigan, formerly of Grand Rapids, age 93, died Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Chelsea Retirement Community. She was born September 27, 1921 in Williamson, WV, the daughter of Charles Clendennin & Charma Leota (Fulton) Parsons. She married Jack Franklin Davidson Sr. and she is survived by their two children,  Jack (Georgeana) Franklin Davidson Jr. of Sparta, MI and Charma Kay (Robert D. Dick) Shoemaker of Chelsea, MI, and two grandchildren, Harley Davidson and Scott-Paul Shoemaker.
