Gene Louis Ahrens
of Grass Lake, MI, age 90, died Friday, September 11, 2020 at his home in Grass Lake. He was born September 16, 1929 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Rudolph Henry & Edna Elinor (Hein) Ahrens. Gene joined the US Army in September, 1947, and was a Medical Tech in the 8th Army, 24th Infantry, being stationed in Korea, Japan, Germany as well as Fort Knox, TN; Camp Kilmer, NJ; Fort Riley, KS and Fort Wayne in Detroit until 1953. Gene stayed in the Detroit area working for several different concrete companies. He was a medical tech at the Ford Rouge plant & head of production control at Hoskins Manufacturing Co. Gene and his family moved to Chelsea in 1969. He was a member of the Herbert J. McKune Post 31 of the American Legion. Gene was also a Iowa Hawkeyes fan. He coached little league in Chelsea for several years and was a Scoutmaster.

of Chelsea, Michigan, age 73, died Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor. She was born March 5, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Robert & Josephine Gerlach. Bobbie graduated from Sandwich High School in 1965. She married Roy George Sanderson in Aurora, Illinois, in 1967. They lived in Illinois until 1980, when they moved to Michigan. Bobbie and Roy went to Arizona in the winters. They attended the Chelsea Kingdom Hall. Bobbie worked for the US Postal Service in Millington, IL, and then the Grass Lake Post Office, where she retired. Friends and family were very important to Bobbie, and the grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a large part of her life.
of Ann Arbor, Michigan, age 92, died Friday, September 4, 2020 at her home. She was born March 4, 1928 in Flat Rock, MI, the daughter of Harry Christian & Alice L. (Osmun) Anderson. Patricia attended Flat Rock High School, where she enjoyed playing basketball. She lived in many different areas, including Iowa, Grayling, in a remote area near Mio, Dexter, and finally Ann Arbor. Pat worked at Head Start in Dexter, and later at TJ Max, JC Penney, Meijer (all in Ann Arbor). She attended Dexter Gospel Church.
