Donley W. & Trillis M. Boyer

Don and Trill Boyer

A celebration of life is planned to remember Donley W. & Trillis M. (Eaton) Boyer on Saturday, October 29, 1:00 pm at Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea. Visitation will be from Noon until 1:00 pm.  Their grandson, Tim Bristle, is officiating.  Private burial will be at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Mulliken, MI. immediately following the service.

Don was born September 20, 1920 to Carl W. & Viola M. (DePew) Boyer. He lived in Mulliken, but graduated from Grand Ledge High School. He attended Western Michigan University for 2 years before World War II interrupted his studies.  He spent 4 years in the Air Force during WWII. Don was a Conservation Officer for the State of Michigan in Washtenaw County for most of his career.  In 1971, he accepted a promotion as District Law Supervisor of Pontiac Lake, supervising the officers of the 4 metro counties.  He retired in 1980.  Don passed away on October 15, 2007 at Bear Creek Assisted Living in Hudson, Florida.

Donna Walz Wilson

Of Gregory, Michigan. Age 61, died Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at her home. She was born January 31, 1955 in Chelsea, Michigan, the daughter of John R. and June (Bailey) Walz.

Donna enjoyed gardening and taking care of her flowers. She loved her dogs and cats. Donna would accompany Dave to go hunting and fishing. She was very generous and would often donate clothes or money to people in need. She often donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Eugene “Gene” William Esch

of Chelsea, Michigan, age 83, died Thursday, October 13, 2016 at his home in Chelsea. He was born April 29, 1933 in Salem Township, Michigan , the son of Louis William. & Alma L. (Inglehart) Esch.  Gene served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.   He retired in 1984 after 30 years with Chrysler. He was a former member of North Sharon Baptist Church. Gene loved gardening and was an avid Tiger’s fan.

Rev. Robert L.S. Brown

of Chelsea, Michigan, age 91, died Monday, October 3, 2016, at Chelsea Retirement Community. He was born August 15, 1925, in Chicago, IL, the son of Samuel I. & Eva June (Shank) Brown.
  He graduated from Illinois Wesleyan & Garrett Theological Seminary.  The Rev. Brown was a United Methodist minister, starting his ministry at LaGrange Methodist Church in Chicago in 1947, then serving at Central Park Ave (Chicago), Community Methodist (Chicago), Metropolitan UMC (Detroit), Central and Algonquin UMC (Sault Ste. Marie), Director of Ecumenical Campus Ministry at Lake Superior State College, First UMC (Saginaw), Orchard UMC (Farmington Hills) and ending as Superintendent of the Flint District, retiring in 1990. 

Paul M. Weber

of Chelsea, MI, age 77, died peacefully Monday, September 26, 2016 near his bird feeder at his home. He was born January 6, 1939 in Metamora, MI, the son of John A. & Flora M (Shipp) Weber.

Paul has lived in Chelsea most of his life.  He played football for Chelsea High School, and graduated in 1957. Paul enlisted in the Army. He was active in the Chelsea First United Methodist Church, where he served as custodian for many years.  Paul worked at the Ann Arbor Fire Department from 1968 until his retirement.  He was an active member and past president of Chelsea Lions Club, where he received the Melvin Jones Award and several “Lion of the Year” awards. Paul worked part-time for Ernst Electric. After retirement, he enjoyed going to coffee with his friends. He did a lot of woodworking and enjoyed farming, especially with his children.
