John C. Allen
John Charles Allen, fondly known as Junior, of Ann Arbor passed quietly among his beloved family at the University of Michigan Hospital in the early hours of March 4, 2017. He was born on August 16, 1934 to John Wesley Allen and Freda Schultz Allen. He met Jean Irene Groeb at a dance in the Pittsfield Union Grange in 1950 and they married on May 6, 1955. They were married almost 62 years and had five children.
He was a hard-working man, who served in the U.S. Naval Reserves. He was a welder and a self-taught engineer who fabricated parts and designed machines for shops and factories in the Ann Arbor area for decades, first as a business owner and later with Bennett Installation and Marsh Plating until his retirement in 1996. Even after his official retirement, John returned to Marsh Plating to work on special projects.
of Manchester, MI, age 80, died suddenly Monday, February 27, 2017 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Chelsea. He was born January 4, 1937 in Petersburg, Michigan, the son of Leo Merle & Ida Annabelle (McKeever) Wright.
of Chelsea, Michigan, age 71, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at her home. She was born July 21, 1945 in Port Huron, Michigan, the daughter of William Ansel & Vivian Marguerite (Cameron) Rankin. Sandy graduated from Western High School Class of '63, the first class in the new high school. She went to Medical Assistant School in Detroit and McHenry County College in Illinois. Sandy worked as a Social Services Secretary at Woodstock Children's Home in Illinois. She then graduated from National Christian Counselors Association with a degree as a Pastoral Counselor. She had an internship at the Church of God in Marshall and in Albion. Sandy was a volunteer Chaplain at Foote (Allegiance) Hospital and did pastoral care for 12 years with Hospice of Jackson. She worked at craft shows for 30 years. Sandy enjoyed collecting angels and dolls, she had over 1,000 porcelain dolls.
