Toni Casey

Age 73, died Thursday, December 26, 2024 at her home in Manchester. She was born March 26, 1951 in Detroit, the daughter of Edward and Ancie (Ealey) Shoemake.

Toni was a homemaker who focused on raising her children and adoring her grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as “the warden”.

Frealin Craft

Age 86, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Divine Life Assisted Living in Haslett, MI. He was born August 12, 1938 in Salyersville, KY, the son of Carl & Mary (Montgomery) Craft.

Frealin attended school in Salyersville, Kentucky. He owned and ran Craft Appliance in Chelsea for 50 years, and was a Deputy Sheriff for Washtenaw County for 33 years. He was a member of the Ann Arbor Kiwanis Club, and also a Mason in the Ann Arbor Lodge.

Glen Charles Dean

of Chelsea, Michigan, formerly of Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, and Manistique, age 72, passed away Friday, December 20, 2024, at his home under hospice care. He was born October 3, 1952, in Highland Park, Michigan, the son of Glen Wesley and Eunice (Davenport) Dean.

Glen attended high school in Ann Arbor, and graduated from Dexter High School in 1970. He then attended Washtenaw Community College. Glen worked in construction as a Cement Mason with his father in the Ann Arbor area. He enjoyed being outside and making music. He played the guitar, bass, and drums and was in several bands, most recently in the band Easy. Glen was a good man.

Mary Ellen Wald

Age 95, died Monday, December 23, 2024 at the Chelsea Retirement Community. She was born May 1, 1929 in Ferguson, Missouri, the daughter of Joseph John and Laura (Mejak) McGowan.

Mary was an active member of St. Aidan Catholic Church in Livonia until she moved to Chelsea in 2017.

Gary F. Adams

of Chelsea, MI, formerly of Flint, Detroit, and Ann Arbor, age 84, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at his home in Chelsea. He was born April 8, 1940 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Charles Francis and Thelma Ruth (Miller) Adams.  Gary graduated from Mackenzie High School in Detroit, class of 1958. He then went to the University of Michigan where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Gary worked as a Research Scientist on the U of M North Campus, Willow Run Lab, and the Environmental Research Institute of Michigan. Gary was active at the Ward Presbyterian Church in Detroit, where he met Janet; and more recently, was a member of the Immanuel Bible Church in Chelsea.
