John Murray Lantis

of Napoleon, MI, most recently living in Chelsea with his son, Eric Lantis and family. Age 77, died Sunday, April 12, 2015 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital - Chelsea, after a long illness. He was born October 13, 1937 in Chelsea, Michigan, the son of Robert R. & Agnes Emeline (Pitts) Lantis.

John graduated from Napoleon High School in 1955.  He operated the family grocery business, A&B Grocery in Napoleon, and later worked at the IGA Grocery in Brooklyn.  John enjoyed going to the Napoleon Cafe with his friends.  He loved to play and watch basketball.

Randall "Randy" G. Fox

of Chelsea, age 63, died unexpectedly Saturday, April 11, 2015 at his home. He was born August 23, 1951 in Big Rapids, Michigan, the son of Clayton Graham & Isabelle A. (Newell) Fox.  Randy graduated from Fremont High School in 1969. He attended Ferris State University, until he was drafted into the U.S. Army. Randy served as an MP in Vietnam. He graduated from ITT with a degree in Computer Programing. Randy worked as a supervisor in Automation Services at U of M for the last 20 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he and Lynn were head ushers for many years.

Katie Gerard

of Grass Lake, MI, age 18, died Thursday, March 26, 2015 due to an automobile accident. She was born July 26, 1996 in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of Jean-Louis Gerard & Lindy (DuBois) Williams.

Katie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  She graduated from Beacon Day Treatment/Annapolis High School and was currently attending Jackson College, and working at Country Market in Chelsea. Katie loved making jewelry with beads, reading, and walking in natural areas.  She had a sharp wit and was fun to be around.  Katie aspired to be a social worker and help kids.

Carol Savage

of Manchester, MI, age 88, died Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the University of Michigan Hospital. She was born May 15, 1926, the daughter of Arthur & Olga (Zeman) Heyn.  Carol was a daughter, sister, niece, aunt, great-aunt, wife, mother, sister-in-law, grandmother, mother-in-law, Sunday school teacher, 1st grade public school teacher, “Grandma Story,” choir member, Girl Scout leader, Cub Scout den leader, Stephen’s minister, and friend.

Nicholas Eugene Cook

of Chelsea, MI, formerly of Redwood, NY, Cheboygan, Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, Westland. Age 84, died Monday, March 16, 2015 at Chelsea Retirement Community. He was born March 11, 1931 in Redwood, New York, the son of Henry John Albert & Theresa Bertha Helen (Trapp) Cook.  Nicholas graduated from Dearborn Fordson High School. He was in the US Army and stationed in Korea for 9 months. Nicholas retired from the Detroit Edison after 41 years. He was a longtime member of Atonement Lutheran Church in Dearborn. Nicholas belonged to the AMVETS, American Legion Post 31, and various clubs at the Detroit Edison. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, hunting, gardening, and the Detroit Lions.
