Donald Lee Jeffery

Of Dexter, MI, age 87, died quietly in his sleep on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. He was born July 1, 1934 in Staten Island, New York, the son of Norman Alexander & Ethel Viola (Mortensen) Jeffery.

Don graduated from Dexter High School in 1952. He went to work in material control for Ford Motor Company (Ypsilanti plant) right after high school and worked for Ford for over 50 years. Don served in the US Army at Ft. Bliss, TX, from 1957 - 1963. After retirement, Don was proud to have taken classes at Washtenaw Community College, during which he restored his John Deere tractor. Don was a good bowler in his younger years, and golfed the majority of his life. He enjoyed playing cards with his brothers, and games with his family and friends. Don loved tinkering with his tractor, woodcarving, and yard work. He had a good sense of humor, liked to laugh, and would talk to anyone.

Dudley K. Holmes, II

Dudley died peacefully on Friday, March 4, 2022 at his home with his family by his side. He was 77 years old. Dudley was born December 8, 1944, the son of Dudley K. & Nancy (Brown) Holmes and raised in Chelsea, MI.

Dudley was a passionate man who always put others first throughout his life’s journey. He emphasized leading with a strong work ethic, continuously giving back to his community, and staying humble. After graduating from Chelsea High School in 1963 as a star athlete, he went on to play football at Hope College, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He returned to Chelsea to begin his career at Chelsea Milling Company (“Jiffy”), working his way from the ground up at almost every job before ending as Vice President of Procurement. After 35 years, Dudley retired in 2004 and continued to serve on the Board of Directors. 

Raymond E. Lutovsky

Of Chelsea, Michigan, age 93, died peacefully Monday, March 14, 2022 at his home surrounded by family. He was born December 12, 1928 in Grafton, North Dakota, the son of Anton J. & Lillian (Peterka) Lutovsky.

Ray was employed as a Vehicle Test Supervisor at Chrysler Proving Grounds from 1953-1984. He earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of North Dakota. Ray served in the US Air Force as a ground equipment maintenance officer from 1951-53 (during the Korean War), attaining the rank of First Lieutenant. He was primarily based in Japan, Okinawa, and Guam. He was a member of the American Legion in Chelsea, and was proud to walk in the Memorial Day parades. Ray was a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He enjoyed yardwork and growing roses, and was known for walking many miles around Chelsea. He liked hanging out at Thompson's Pizza. Ray was known for his sharp intellect and quick wit, especially after enjoying an occasional glass of scotch. He & Rosemary wintered in Sarasota, Florida for many years.

Patrice Ann Devine

of Webberville, MI, age 67, went home to be with the Lord in Heaven on Friday, January 7, 2022. She was born March 17, 1954 in Detroit, the daughter of Edward Michael & Ruth Audry (Oliver) Devine.  Patrice graduated from St. Mary's of Redford High School in 1972.  She attended Calvary Church in Webberville.  She owned Iron Horses Antiques, Collectibles, and Curiosities.  Patrice is a child of God who lived her life as a great example. Filled with His love, joy and mercy, she found peace and happiness sharing the love of Christ with family, friends, and neighbors.  She enjoyed walks in the woods, bike rides, gardening and collecting rocks, all while singing, praying, and praising.  Psalm 91:1 "Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty."
