Patrick Joseph Switz, Jr.

of Chelsea, Michigan, age 78, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Legacy Assisted Living Center in Jackson. He was born August 26, 1940 in Ravenna, Ohio, the son of Patrick J. & Helen E. (Snyder) Switz, Sr.  Patrick graduated from Newton Falls High School in Newton Falls, OH in 1958.  He served in the US Army, then earned his Bachelors Degree in City Planning and Urban Development from Ohio University in Athens, OH, graduating in 1963.  He started his career involved in the urban renewal of Cleveland, OH. He then was the Director of Community Development of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; Ames, Iowa and St. Charles, Missouri.  Patrick was involved in Kiwanis in several communities.  He was “the Lawn Ranger”, and loved making his yard beautiful.  Patrick was a “car guy” who kept his automobiles immaculate, shiny, and ready to roll.  He enjoyed traveling in the USA and enjoying the beauty of this country.  Patrick enjoyed making people laugh.  

Paul John Dohr


of Chelsea, MI, formerly of Salem, SC; Royal Oak;  Farmington Hills; Fairfield, CT; Mountain View, CA; and Appleton, WI, age 91, passed away peacefully at home Friday, March 15, 2019, surrounded by family. He was born January 5, 1928, in Appleton, Wisconsin, the second youngest of nine children of Joseph & Alma (Flesh) Dohr.  Paul attended Layton School of Art. During WW II he served in the Navy in a Combat Information Center (CIC).  Afterwards he continued his education under the GI Bill, graduating with a BFA from Washington University with a major in advertising. 

John H. Schneider, Sr

of Ann Arbor, Michigan Age 90, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, March 9, 2019. He was born April 25, 1928 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the son of Titus G. & Myra (Allmendinger) Schneider. John graduated from Ann Arbor (Pioneer) High School in 1947. He co-owned Schneider's Service station, which later became Schneider's Party Store, with his brother, Titus Jr.

John is survived by his wife, Jane M. (Swartout-Doades) Schneider, and their family and church families from Bethlehem United Church of Christ in Ann Arbor and Vanderbilt Community Church in Vanderbilt; and many caring friends. Married to Nona R. (Carstens) Schneider, she preceded him in death.

Cindy A. Brown

Chelsea, Michigan, formerly of Jackson, age 62, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Henry Ford Allegiance Health in Jackson surrounded by family and friends. She was born on January 5, 1957 in Chelsea, Michigan to  James Robert Brown and Beverly A. (Burmis) Brown.

 Cindy worked at Pilot and Eisenhower Center.  She took care of many people when they were sick or going through a tough time.  Cindy was also part of Brain Trainer's group in Ann Arbor. 

William Russell Lowery

William Bill LoweryAge 97, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Hillside Terrace in the company of his family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents Ray J. and Fern (Follmer) Lowery, all nine siblings (Alvin Lowery, Marian Mosier, Patricia Nygren, Ray J. Lowery Jr., Joyce Fuller, George Lowery, Dolores Heinrichs, Darrell Lowery, and John Lowery), his wife Beverly Witt, his sons Mike Larkin and Gavin Barclay, and son-in-law Gary Eddings.  Bill is survived by his daughters Patricia (Larkin) Eddings, Cathleen (Lowery) Piccione, and Barbara Tozser; his sons Ray Lowery and David Barclay; his former wife Patricia (Campbell) Lowery; and more grandchildren and great-grandchildren than you can shake a stick at.
