Charles Edward Geer

 of Chelsea, Michigan, age 72, died Thursday, April 4, 2019 at the Arbor Hospice Residence with his family by his side. He was born April 15, 1946 in Detroit, the son of Edward William and Lenora Whitfield (Van Meter) Geer.
    Charles graduated from McKenzie High School in Detroit, and then attended Western Michigan University. He loved being a facilitator for the automotive industry. Charles and Gail taught self-actualization classes all over the US. He attended Unity Church in Warren.

Richard James Willis

of Manchester, MI, age 83, died of Alzheimer’s dementia on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. He was born February 12, 1936 in Jackson, Michigan, the son of James & Mildred (Vaughn) Willis. Richard  graduated from Northville High School in 1954, and spent a year at Alma College. He was in the Army Reserves for 7 years. Richard was hired by Detroit Edison, where he worked for more than 32 years as a service planner. He was a member of Chelsea First United Methodist Church, where he was active as a greeter. Richard was a hunter. Lois and Richard loved traveling and camping, in their RV,  on their Honda Goldwing, and on cruises. They wintered in Arizona and Southern California for 14 years.
 

Gerard Barry Sheremet

of Stockbridge, MI, age 62, died Thursday, March 14, 2019 at his home in Stockbridge, Michigan. He was born October 14, 1956 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Walter G. & Stella V. (Szczepanik) Sheremet.  Gerard was a carpenter, a handyman and a business owner but mostly he loved sailing and scuba diving. He was never afraid to dream or to try new adventures such as building a log home or teaching himself how to sail. He loved his family and had a special affection for the family dogs.

Dorothy Provonche

Of Gregory, died March 15, 2019.  Beloved wife of the late Burton L.   Dear mother of Valerie Provonche, Paula (Derrick) Baranowski, Karen (James) Whitmore and the late Mark.  Sister of the late Florence Vanderburg, James Stanley and Charles Stanley.  Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.  Memorial service Sunday, April 7th at 5:00 pm at the Cole Funeral Chapel, 214 E. Middle St. Chelsea, MI  48118. Family will receive visitors from 1:00 pm until time of service.  

Patrick Joseph Switz, Jr.

of Chelsea, Michigan, age 78, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Legacy Assisted Living Center in Jackson. He was born August 26, 1940 in Ravenna, Ohio, the son of Patrick J. & Helen E. (Snyder) Switz, Sr.  Patrick graduated from Newton Falls High School in Newton Falls, OH in 1958.  He served in the US Army, then earned his Bachelors Degree in City Planning and Urban Development from Ohio University in Athens, OH, graduating in 1963.  He started his career involved in the urban renewal of Cleveland, OH. He then was the Director of Community Development of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; Ames, Iowa and St. Charles, Missouri.  Patrick was involved in Kiwanis in several communities.  He was “the Lawn Ranger”, and loved making his yard beautiful.  Patrick was a “car guy” who kept his automobiles immaculate, shiny, and ready to roll.  He enjoyed traveling in the USA and enjoying the beauty of this country.  Patrick enjoyed making people laugh.
