Clayton A. Colebar
of Latham, IL, age 77, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at his daughter's home in Chelsea, Michigan. He was born June 23, 1944 in Decatur, Illinois, the son of Anthony W. & Beulah M. (Howard) Colebar. Clay was an Army Veteran, serving in active duty from 1962-1965. He lived in Latham, IL, and was a self-employed carpet installer for 50 years, finally retiring at the age of 70. He loved his family, friends, and especially his grand/great grandchildren, so very much. Clay enjoyed electric trains and putting models together. He would spend hours working on his giant electric train layout, complete with towns, cars, people, trees, mountains, tunnels, bridges, and lakes. He also enjoyed old war and western movies, and his tomato garden.John Dennis Posegay
of Chelsea, Michigan, 63 years old, was born July 5, 1958 in Superior Township to John Stephen Posegay and Evelyn Gertrude Posegay. He married Valerie Anne Theobald in 1983. John joined his Heavenly Father on Friday, February 11, 2022 after a courageous battle against tongue cancer. John grew up in Westland, Saline, Milan, and Chelsea. He grew up with a Christian Faith.
John retired from Washtenaw County Road Commission after 27 years of service. He started as a mechanic and retired as an Inspector and Weighmaster. Prior to that, he worked as a mechanic at Complete Auto Transit in Willow Run and at Woods Dairy Farm in Saline. He received his Associate’s Degree in Heavy Duty Mechanics from Ferris State College.
Helene M. Marshall
Of Jackson, MI, formerly of Chelsea, age 84, died Friday, February 4, 2022 at her home in Jackson, Michigan. She was born June 19, 1937 in Jackson, the daughter of Bert J. & Veronica A. (Daniel) Smith.
Helene worked for various retail facilities for many years and was a member of St. Johns Church of Jackson.
She loved to walk daily through the parks and take in the Lord’s joy throughout the day and every day. Helene also enjoyed her evening time studying the bible.
Gary O. Moore
of Chelsea, Michigan, age 75, passed away Monday, February 7, 2022 at Spring Arbor Assisted Living. He was born February 7, 1947 in Sandusky, MI, the son of Orville Emerson and Doris R. (Wisenbach) Moore.
Gary graduated from Chelsea High School in 1965. He started working as a plumber at age 16, and became a master plumber and worked for several companies and Local 190. Gary was in the union for over 30 years. He bowled in the league at Chelsea Lanes, was a member of Chelsea Rod and Gun Club and Bullseye Hunt Club. He volunteered at MUCC camp for many years, and organized family reunions at the camp. Gary was a tree conservationist and received awards of appreciation. He loved the Chelsea community, especially Chelsea Football. Gary would do anything for anybody. He loved being around people and being outdoors. Gary was an avid hunter, golfer, and fisherman.
John Martin Tandy
Of Gregory, MI, died peacefully in his home surrounded by family on January 30, 2022 at the age of 93. He was born May 2, 1928 in Chicago, IL, to Jesse Martin and Adella May (Pearce) Tandy.
On December 27, 1947, he married Nancy L. Haas. She preceded him in death on Sept. 16, 2017 after nearly 70 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Julie May Tandy and a brother, James Tandy.
