Arlene Ruth Naebeck

Of Tecumseh, MI, formerly of Ann Arbor. Age 92, went to be with the Lord and her husband, Arnold on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at her daughter's home. She was born July 1, 1930 in Freedom Township, the daughter of Joseph L. & Amanda L. (Henes) Bersuder.

Arlene graduated from Ann Arbor High School in 1948. She worked at the Washtenaw County Clerk’s office until 1991. Arlene was a member of the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling, and was a fantastic vacation planner, including a very special trip to Alaska. Her greatest enjoyment in life was her family.

Johan Stohl

of Chelsea, Michigan, formerly of Albion, age 89, died Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at Silver Maples of Chelsea. He was born September 19, 1933, in Warren, Pennsylvania, the son of Harold and Louise (Cogswell) Stohl.

Johan was an Albion College professor, an ordained minister, and a member of the Unitarian Universalist congregation of Ann Arbor. Johan had an active social life at Silver Maples being a part of the choir, Silver Linings campaign, and promotional activities for Silver Maples. He was a published poet and a deeply admired professor; a beloved husband and family man.

Jason Schutte

Jason Todd Schutte passed peacefully at home where he was loved and cared for by his mother while he fought against prostate cancer. During his life he was a Marine and graduated college, but most important to him was that he was loved by his family, wanted and will always be missed. He was preceded by his brother, Jimmy, and survived by his mother, Lois, his brother, Christian, and his daughter, Hailey, who he was deeply proud of and was a proud grand-father of three.

Ronald Edwin Austin

Age 91, died Wednesday, December 28, 2022, in Chelsea, Michigan, where he was a resident of the Chelsea Retirement Community. He was born November 30, 1931, in Oil City, Pennsylvania, the son of Thomas Clare and Mary Fern (Turk) Austin.

He was a graduate of Oil City High School, the College of Wooster, Ohio, and the University of Michigan School of Information and Library Studies. He was most recently employed as a Reference and Collection Development Librarian at the University of Michigan Graduate Library. He retired from that position in 1994.

Aram "David" Walker

Of Chelsea, Michigan, age 76, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, December 23, 2022 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor. He was born October 12, 1946 in Ann Arbor, Michigan , the son of Aram S. & Emma “Ann” (Kent) Walker Schindler Vaughn.


David fondly grew up at his grandmother, Wanda (Alva) Walker’s home with his aunt Carol on the corner of Golfside and Washtenaw in a beautiful brick home where he and Debbie were married. He graduated from Pioneer High School in 1964. He joined the Army, serving at Cameron Bay in Vietnam. David began working for Michigan Bell as a telephone splicer technician in December of 1966. He proudly worked for them for 38 years, and then worked at Pamida in Chelsea until the store closed. He was a member of the American Legion. David enjoyed hunting, camping, working on outdoor projects, and spending time with his family. He was very involved with his children’s activities, running the fun fairs at South Elementary School, and joining all of his children’s field trips. He loved building floats for his children for the annual Chelsea parades. David loved kids, and helped his wife, Debbie with her in-home daycare. He had a kind, loving heart, always willing to help out in any way. He never let his children feel like they were going without, and loved to spoil his grandchildren. He and Debbie welcomed everyone with open arms.
