Roger W. Steffens
of Chelsea, Michigan, age 70, died suddenly Friday, September 25, 2015 in Jackson County due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born June 9, 1945 in Farmington, Michigan, the son of Irvin W. & Gladys (Watson) Steffens. Roger attended Chelsea High School. He farmed with his father all his life. Roger was an avid hunter and fisherman, and belonged to several hunting associations. He was active in tractor pulling. Roger was an animal lover, and he won many awards and trophies for showing his dogs.
Age 90, died Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at his home. He was born November 25, 1924 in York Township, Michigan, the son of George & Matilda (Neebling) Rohde. Rudy attended Salem Grove United Methodist Church. He was a member of Michigan Labor Union Local 503. In his younger years he worked as a farm hand on various farms. Rudy then went to work for Don & Warren Porath, the King Sealy Plant for 10 years, Paul Peltcs Construction, O'Hara Construction, and finally Manchester Stamping. He enjoyed farming and trapping for fur.
