of Chelsea, MI, age 84, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, November 5, 2016 in her home. She was born March 1, 1932 in Ionia, Michigan, the daughter of Leo M. & Eva (Bemis) Dent.
Barbara graduated from Lansing High School, and retired from U of M as the “vault keeper”. She enjoyed bowling in several leagues for 32 years, and also playing bingo. Barbara moved from Ann Arbor to Chelsea in 1989.
On June 23, 1950, she married John Kampas in Lansing, and he preceded her in death on March 1, 2006. Survivors include her daughter, Karen Sue Taliaferro of Chelsea; six grandchildren, David, Kellie, Jodie (Christopher), Michael, Brandie (Nathan), and Caitlyn; and eight great-grandchildren Trista, Haylie, Joseph, Jaden, Lily, Violet, Raiden, Coda. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Vickie Hennigan, and a grandson, Michael.
Private funeral services will be held. Burial be at Oak Grove East Cemetery in Chelsea. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association of Michigan. Arrangements by Cole Funeral Chapel.
