Obituaries

Stewart Robinovitzof Chelsea, age 75,  died Sunday, May 31, 2015 at University of Michigan Hospital surrounded by family. He was born November 10, 1939 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the son of Isadore “Izzy” & Rose G. (Zalkind) Robinovitz.  Stewart graduated from Emerson College of Boston with a degree in Theater, and he earned his Masters from the University of Michigan in Radio and Television.  He worked at U of M's Institute of Social Research, and later in information technology, retiring in 2001.  Stewart was a committee member of the Haehnle Audubon Sanctuary.  He was also on the Waterloo Farm Museum Board.

Stewart worked as a Lyndon Township Election Judge and Board of Review member.  He was an active member at Temple Beth Emeth, were he served on the finance committee.  He worked on the web sites of all the organizations above.  Stewart loved nature, and recently enjoyed fly fishing with his friend, Charlie.  He enjoyed hiking, downhill and cross country skiing, was an avid bicyclist, and loved animals.  Above all else, he was a loving and devoted father and husband.

On February 6, 1976, he married Helena Marie Hodgson in Ann Arbor, and she survives. Other survivors include a son, Isaac (Annemarie) of Chicago; a daughter, Miriam of Chicago; and several cousins whom he was close to since childhood.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 2, 11:00 am at Temple Beth Emeth, 2309 Packard St, Ann Arbor, Michigan with Rabbi Robert D. Levy officiating.  Burial followed at Arborcrest Memorial Park, Ann Arbor.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Jackson Audubon Haehnle Sanctuary, Michigan Heart of St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Waterloo Farm Museum, or Temple Beth Emeth of Ann Arbor. No flowers, please.  Arrangements by Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea.
