James Claude Brazin of Ann Arbor, Michigan, age 80, passed away at home Thursday, November 27, 2025. He was born October 4, 1945, in Hamtramck, Michigan, the only child of James Albert Brazin and Lenore (Moninski) Brazin.

Jim graduated from Mt. Clemons High School in 1963, and attended Michigan Tech for one year, then Wayne State University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Jim worked at the Ford Motor Company, retiring in 2002.

Jim loved figuring out how things worked and repairing things. His interests included gardening, beekeeping, woodworking, clock repair, fishing, antiques, history, and genealogy. If something needed building or fixing, he was happy. He especially enjoyed his Ford 8N tractors, his cats, and beagle dogs.

Jim’s surviving family includes Elaine, his wife of 18 years; his son, Jeff (Hilary) Brazin; daughters, Michelle Brazin, and Kristine (Robert Mallis) Brazin; grandchildren, Jack, Joey and Lucy Brazin, Seneca, Diezel, Gibson, and Oliver Kuchar, and Emerson and Gabriel Mallis; his stepdaughter, Stephanie (Dan) Curnayn; stepson, Peter Lukasavitz; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial celebration will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Little Lake Event Center, 179 Little Lake Dr., Ann Arbor, MI 48103. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Huron Valley.
