Obituaries

of Chelsea, Michigan, age 84, died Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at her home in Chelsea. She was born April 6, 1940, in McDougal, Arkansas, the daughter of Silas Robert and Claudeen (Herring) Bolen. 

Genendal graduated from Corning High School in Corning, Arkansas. She was a member of Salem Grove United Methodist Church in Grass Lake. Genendal worked at Polly's as a cashier for 15 years. 
 
On December 30, 1958, Genendal married Frank Joseph Kornexl in McDougal, AR, and he preceded her in death on October 19, 2014. She is survived by two sons, Frank Kornexal, Jr. of Grass Lake, and Robert (Kerrie) Kornexl of Traverse City; one daughter, Lori (Mark) Mills of Fosteria; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. 
 
A private service was held Friday, February 7, 2025, at Salem Grove United Methodist Church in Grass Lake, followed by burial at Salem Grove Cemetery. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Salem Grove United Methodist Church, 3320 Notten Rd., Grass Lake, MI 49240, or Faith in Action, 603 S. Main St., Chelsea, MI 48118. Arrangements were entrusted to Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea.

Ginny was one of the sweetest ladies in Chelsea she was alway humming and smiling.
