Obituaries

Age 80, passed away at the Ann Arbor VA Hospital on Wednesday, October 9th, 2024, due to health issues.

He was born August 27, 1944, to John Detwiler and Clara Beatrice McGill in Bloomingdale, Indiana.

Tom served in the Navy for 3 years as a Navy Seal. After being discharged from the Navy, he joined the Air Force and served honorably for 20 years. Tom loved to be in nature, and camping was one of his favorite pastimes. He was very well traveled. Tom always walked to the beat of his own drum, never compromising in the face of adversity. In 1997, he moved to Michigan where he lived out the rest of his life peacefully.

He is survived by his son, Paul Detwiler, daughter-in-law Debra, and grandkids Pandora and Chatum; his daughter, Brenda Dasher and her family; his brother, John Detwiler; and sister, Cindy Detwiler.

As per his wishes, no services will be held.
