of Dexter, Michigan, age 74, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at her home. She was born June 17, 1949, in Bottineau, North Dakota, the daughter of Everett Joseph and Gladys Arlene (Monson) Solper.

Dianne graduated from Bottineau High School in 1967. She worked at MacDee’s in Chelsea, and Rick’s Market. Dianne enjoyed sewing and quilting and was in a quilting club. She loved to garden, growing her own fruits and vegetables, canning, and then sharing them with others. She also loved her plants and flowers which she enjoyed sharing. Dianne showed up for her family, no matter what. She was very caring and extremely generous. Dianne was someone who went out of her way to share what she had with anyone who had a need.

In addition to her husband, William “Bill” Burgess, Dianne is survived by her children, Allan (Angela) Kuhl of Holly, and Michelle (Dan) Susko of Rochester Hills; her sister, Lois (Dan) Schaefer; her brother, David (Sherrie) Solper; three grandchildren, Megan Tersigni, Jeffery (Addie) Kuhl, and Lorelei Susko; three great-grandchildren, Mya, Vincent, and Noah Tersigni; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 16, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea, with Chaplain Renee Hampton officiating. Burial will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. The family will receive friends Friday, September 15, from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m., and before the service starting at 9:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dianne Kuhl Home Economics Scholarship Fund at Chelsea High School.

I worked with her for many years at the Chelsea Post Office. She was always such a good person, and she was a very good carrier and she cared about her customers. Like myself, she was a union steward, and she always stuck up for what was right and fought for everybody. Her and I would always organize the food drive and get everything set up for it every year.
She’s going to be missed, just like she has been missed by several of us for many years at the post office.
