Geoffrey Moore Savage

Geoffrey Moore Savage, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, died of cancer at Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor on January 17, 2018. He was 65. Geoff was born December 27, 1952, in Pontiac, Michigan, to the late Philip John Savage, Jr., and Justine Angela (Brady) Savage, 95, of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

Geoff was raised in Bloomfield Hills, where he played elaborate childhood games with his siblings, battled the family goat, and generally caused mischief. He graduated from Brother Rice High School and earned his bachelor’s degree in communications from Michigan State University in 1976.

Richard "Dick" Loftis

of Jackson, Michigan, age 66, died Sunday, May 13, 2018 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor. He was born February 27, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of John H. and Audrey (Harris) Loftis. Dick was a member of the Stockbridge High School class of 1970. He worked at Central Fiber, QED Environmental Systems, and in many aspects as a handyman, in lawn care, and in the building trades until he had a major stroke 13 years ago. He was an active member of Chelsea First Congregational Church, where he helped with the building and grounds, and enjoyed visiting with the congregation. Dick loved people, and church was one of the highlights of his week. He loved spending time outdoors, including hunting, fishing and attending gun shows. Dick also liked American history, war movies, and woodworking.

Lynne Ellen Marxson

of Chelsea, Michigan, age 78, died Wednesday, May 9, 2018 while in the loving care of Arbor Hospice Residence, Saline, MI. She was born December 19, 1939 in Crawfordsville, Indiana, the daughter of Fred R. Marxson and Mary Margaret (Andrew) Marxson.Lynne was retired from AT&T and from her work at several churches as Church Secretary. Lynne lived at the Chelsea Retirement Community and attended church services there.

Annberta Margaret Gasieski

Annberta Gasiewskiof Jackson, Michigan, age 84, died Friday, May 11, 2018 at home. She was born April 8, 1934 in Wood-Ridge, New Jersey, the daughter of Lambert H. & Mary F. (Benz) Keull.  Annberta graduated from Poughkeepsie High School in New York. She was a homemaker and raised 4 children. Annberta attended St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea from 1977-1989 before moving to Alpena.  Ann loved her family more than anything. She was a dedicated Roman Catholic who lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, crocheting, knitting, and cooking. Her health did not stop her from roller skating, riding bikes, and traveling to Alaska. She loved to read and embraced everyone she met.

Clarence "Glenn" Erskine


of Chelsea, Michigan, formerly of Moran, MI, age 94, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at his home. He was born July 26, 1923 in  Allenville, Michigan, the son of John & Violet (Ringler) Erskine.  Glenn graduated from St. Ignace High School in 1942. He served in the army from 1943-46. Glenn was an auto mechanic and driver for Chrysler for 20 years.  After his retirement, Glenn & Minnie moved to Moran, MI, and returned to Chelsea in 2013.  Glenn was an avid sportsman who loved hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Sault Ste Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.
