Earl Robert Hughes Jr.

of Chelsea, MI, age 69, died Monday, June 25, 2018 at his home. He was born September 18, 1948 in Frostburg, Maryland, the son of Earl Robert & Thelma May (Winebrenner) Hughes.

Earl attended Chelsea High School, and was a US Navy veteran. Earl worked for the Washtenaw County Road Commission for 32 years and retired as a Foreman. Earl was a friend of Waterloo Village United Methodist Church. He enjoyed feeding birds, hunting, fishing, and playing poker. Earl loved making moonshine, cooking, and spending time with his grandkids.

James Richard Line

of Chelsea, Michigan, age 85, died Sunday, June 24, 2018 in South Lyon. He was born February 19, 1933 in Island View, Lakeview, Ohio, the son of Ralph & Dorothy (Fike) Line.  He graduated from Waynesfield High School in Ohio and attended Ohio Northern University. He was a welder, mechanist, and toolmaker all his life, as well as an Army veteran. He served in Hanau, Germany from 1953-1955. Jim loved antique tractors, steam engines, and stationary engines. Mechanically he was very skilled and creative and was always willing to help his neighbors by repairing farm equipment or design some new innovative solution.

Ronald Henry Kraska

of Dexter, MI, age 83, died Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Chelsea Retirement Community. He was born October 31, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Matthew & Ann (Wilczynski) Kraska.

Ron attended Ford Trade School and worked 40 years with Ford Motor Company. He loved fishing and hunting. Ron enjoyed spending his time at his cottage on Halfmoon lake.

Mary Ann Barill

Mary Ann Barill, of Chelsea, Michigan, age 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 21, 2018 with her family at her side. She was born April 14, 1927 in Osage, West Virginia, the daughter of John & Antionette (Barberio) Scotchell.

Mary grew up in Star City, WV, the youngest of 7 children. She was an avid Tigers and Red Wings fan. Mary loved St. Mary Church and loved to play bingo. She had many friends at the Pines, and her friends and her grandchildren were the focus of her life.

Anita Frances Pateck

of Chelsea, MI, formerly of Ann Arbor, age 101, died Monday, June 18, 2018 at the Chelsea Retirement Community. She was born August 9, 1916 in Festus, Missouri, the daughter of Stephen Andrew & Carrie Louise (Bradley) Boyer. Anita loved playing cards and bingo, reading magazines, crossword puzzles, watching television, and getting her hair and nails done. Her son-in-law, John Patoros, took care of her in his home for many years until her later years after losing his wife. She was a sales clerk at Cunninghams for many years. Anita loved living in her retirement home, Chelsea Retirement Community. The residents and staff were just wonderful to her. She was a kind hearted lady and will be missed by all.
