Stanley A. "D" Payne

of Gibraltar, Michigan, age 91, who was always sensational but modest, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, April 11, 2020. He was born February 20, 1929 in Hazel Park, MI, the son of Robert and Nora (MacKenzie) Payne. Stanley served in the U.S. Navy, and the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, where he was deployed for many years. He married his bride, Juanita (McPherson) on March 23, 1956, and they shared a storybook love for 63+ years. Stanley retired from Western Electric in Plymouth, MI. After his retirement, he continued to keep himself busy at Don Massey Cadillac, and Bally Total Fitness, where he always brought a smile to the face of his many co-workers.

Karen R. Foster

of Garden City, MI, age 80, died Sunday, April 12, 2020 at her home. She was born August 22, 1939 in Charlotte, Michigan, the daughter of Warren Everett & Mary M. (Hall) Kurtz.  Karen worked for Henry Ford Hospital for 35 years as a registered nurse in the neonatal until, intensive care unit, and later in continuing education of Ford employees. She was an avid baker, sewer, and knitter and enjoyed making things for her friends and family.

Rich died early Friday morning under the loving care of his daughter, Aireal. He lost his short battle with cancer. He is survived by his precious daughter Aireal and 2 step-daughters Amber and Andrea. He is also survived by a sister, Malissa. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother.
 

John “Fred” Griffith

of Chelsea, Michigan, formerly of Ann Arbor, Michigan, age 92, died Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at Silver Maples Retirement Neighborhood. He was born January 5, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Edwin Amsden and Alene Margarete (Gerstner) Griffith.  He leaves his wife of 71 years, Bonnie (Bergren) Griffith; his daughter Linda, and son-in-law Terry Hurst of Dexter; granddaughters Julie Hurst of San Diego and Laurie Corcoran (William) of Brunswick, GA; two great-grandchildren; and many friends.

Kenneth E. Johnson

of Chelsea, Michigan, formerly of Bloomington, MN, age 91, died Saturday, April 4, 2020 at the Chelsea Retirement Community. He was born January 21, 1929 in St. Paul, MN, the son of Edwin B. & Helen (Larkey) Johnson.   Kenneth served in the Army National Guard from 1951 to 1952, during which time he married Vionne E. Formo, also of his hometown of Granite Falls, MN. Kenneth’s 32-year career in sales and marketing management with Northwestern Bell/AT&T entailed transfers to New Jersey, Iowa, Minnesota, and Kansas City. Throughout his career, and later in retirement, he and Vi enjoyed extensive travel around the U.S. and Europe. Ken was a member of Dexter United Methodist Church, and formerly a member of Hope Presbyterian Church in Richfield, MN where he was a Deacon and an Elder, as well as an avid choir member.
