Obituaries

of Brooklyn, MI, formerly of Dexter, age 48, died Monday, April 22, 2013 due to an accident in Dexter. He was born May 25, 1964 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the son of Paul C. & Rosemary (Birchmeier) Koch.

Mike graduated from Dexter High School in 1982.  He was a member of Local 190.  He could fix or build anything.  Mike spent all of his free time with his wife and kids. He enjoyed golfing and riding his bike, and loved to fix cars.


On March 26, 1988, he married Susan Bell in Pinckney, and she survives. Other survivors include his mother of Dexter; three daughters, Katherine (Ian) Parish of Brooklyn, Elizabeth (Joshua) Clemet of Washington, Melissa Koch of Brooklyn; one son, Dylan Koch of Brooklyn; three brothers, Christian, Paul (Anne), and Daniel (Caitlin) Koch; one granddaughter, Natalie Clemet;  sisters/brothers-in-law, Linda Fenlon of Cheboygan, Roger (Ginger) Fenlon of Salida Co, Gail Robillard of Litchfield, Cheryl (Don) Spies of Cheboygan, Cathy Bell of Bend, OR; and several wonderful nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father, a sister, Julie Koch, and loving in-laws, James & Theresa Bell.


Funeral services were held Saturday, April 27, 1:00 pm at Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea,  with Rev. Kerry Snyder officiating.  The family received friends Friday 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for his children's college funds.
