Obituaries

Thomas Edward “Tommy” Denton was born on March 19, 1961 with a head of curly red hair. Tommy grew up and went to school in Ypsi, Ann Arbor, and Dexter.  He took great pride in being good at everything – he could lift anything, fix anything, move anything, repair anything, play any sport – he could do anything and do it well.  He even made the best green bean casserole at Thanksgiving every year and sang in a professional Opera in San Diego when he was 13. Tommy was also very good at eating anything anyone else didn’t want or didn’t like and he was always there if you needed help with something. He was a HUGE UM Wolverines and Detroit Lions fan and he was really into wolves.

Tom owned "Peeping Tom" Window Washing, and was an auto parts manager at several locations.  He started a motorcycle club, and enjoyed riding.

Tommy was preceded in death by his mother Betty Denton Parmer and sister Laura Denton.  He is survived by his father Paul Denton, brother Charlie Denton, sister Paula Denton, son “Little Paul” Denton, niece Meg Krull, nephew Kyler Denton McHardy, great-niece Evvie Mae Krull Burke and good dog, Sadie Mae.

Tommy was kind-hearted and will be missed a lot.  Right on.

The family will greet friends at Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea on Friday, June 16th, from 6-7 pm with a brief service at 7:00 pm.  Donations in his memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Cardiovascular center at Michigan Medicine.

Stone School Elementary in Ann Arbor - my first crush was Tommy. Slipped him a note... I like you, do you like me, yes or no? (check boxes). We reconnected in our in our early 20's when Timmy lived in Tallahassee FL. RIP, God speed my friend.

Tommy,

I didn't know you well, as I was your sister Paula's friend later in our lives, but anytime there was a family event you were there. Always happy and jovial, with a smile that was as bright as the sun. I know you were loved by many. May you RIP and rock on among the clouds.
