Nancy Louise Schutze of Pinckney, Michigan, formerly of Detroit, age 95, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2026, at her home on Halfmoon Lake. She was born August 3, 1930, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of William Wallace and Shirley Louise (Slayton) Travis.
Nancy graduated from Northwestern High School, class of 1947, and went on to take some accounting courses. She was heavily involved with the North Lake United Methodist Church in Chelsea. Nancy enjoyed crafting and crocheting. She loved going for rides on the pontoon boat and camping with her family and church family with the Christian Family Camping Association.
Nancy married Harold F. Schutze on February 14, 1953. He preceded her in death on September 12, 1996. She is survived by her sons, Harold L. Schutze of Detroit, Gary (Margaret) Schutze of Canton, and Mark (Kelly) Schutze of Canton; grandchildren, Autumn (Aaron) DeHetre and Jason Schutze; and great-granddaughter, Laylah. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Edwin Travis.
No public services are planned for this time. A private burial will be held at Oak Grove East Cemetery in Chelsea. Memorial contributions may be made to the North Lake United Methodist Church. Arrangements were entrusted to Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea.
