of Dexter, MI, age 80, died unexpectedly Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the University of Michigan Hospital. She was born August 11, 1938 in Milan, Michigan, the daughter of Robert & Eunice (Sylvester) Murphy.
Darlene lived in Dexter all of her life. She graduated from Dexter High School in 1956. Darlene worked for Thetford Corp., retiring after 25 years. She was a lifetime member of St. Andrew’s Church in Dexter. Darlene enjoyed going up North to their cottage, and traveling to the UP. Her hobbies included sewing, canning, cooking and baking.
On September 19, 1959, she married Robert Rose at St. Andrews, and he survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Masters of Dexter; and a granddaughter, Tina Masters of Dexter. She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Allen Rose; her sister, Donna Jean Gregory; and her brother Terry Lee Murphy.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 29, 11:00 am at St. Andrew's United Church of Christ, Dexter, with Rev. Kendall Brown officiating. Burial will follow at St. Andrew’s Cemetery, Dexter. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10-11 am.
