Sadly, Our loving wife, mom, grammie passed away at age 69, on Monday, September 11, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ypsilanti. She was born October 21,1947 in Belleville, Michigan, the daughter of Lloyd Miller and Aprilla "Rubye" (Ulbick) Bates. Debbie graduated from Ypsilanti High School in 1966. On July 1, 1967 she married Aram "David" Walker of Ann Arbor, Michigan. A few years later, after the birth of their twins sons, she started an in home day care to stay home with her children. She ran her daycare in Chelsea for over 25 years. She loved caring for kids and was a huge part of many children's lives. Parents always marveled at how she could accomplish so much and had such respect from all the children, and how sandwiches NEEDED to be cut "the Debbie way" and her chocolate chip cookies were to die for. She also worked at Pamida in Chelsea for many years. Debbie loved camping, especially at her favorite location in Ludington during the summer. She was the "fun grammie" to all.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Aram "David" Walker, three sons, David (Shelly Rutledge) Walker of Munith, Duane (Florida) Walker of Jackson, Daniel (Celinda) Walker of Grass Lake and one daughter, Dena (Eric) Sommer of Stockbridge; 7 grandchildren, Brendan, Scott, Kaitelyn, Sydney, Chase, Parker and Brett; three siblings, David Miller of Chelsea, James (Debi) Miller of Ypsilanti, Denise (Bill) Leonard of Ypsilanti; many nieces and nephews and so many day care children she thought of as her own that were a special part of her life. She was preceded in death by both her parents and a sister, Rosanne Collier.
