Stephanie Elliff Doll of Chelsea, Michigan, formerly of Milford and Livonia, age 68, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Michigan Medicine. She was born April 22, 1958, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Clarence Cash and Sophia Helen (Wojciechowski) Elliff.

Stephanie attended the University of Michigan, Dearborn, earning her Bachelors Degree. Wanting to advance her career in finance she went on to earn her Masters in Finance at Walsh College. Stephanie started her career as a CPA in an Auditing Firm working out of the RecCen in Detroit. Then one of her audit clients saw some real talent and hired her into private business. She worked at AvFuel Corporation for 31 years and served most of her time there as Vice President/Controller.

When Stephanie had an interest in something she went at it with the full force of nature. Before she and Larry met, she took an interest in photography. Not just any photography. She flew out to the southern islands in Alaska to camp with and take pictures of Grizzly Bears. And to Scotland to hike through old castles snapping photos along the way.

Then in 2002, she met Larry, and their romance blossomed immediately. They were married the following year.

Stephanie & Larry loved their log home and the land to grow a fabulous garden. When Stephanie started entering vegetables, canned goods, baked goods, and sewing projects in “The Green Barn” at the Chelsea Community Fair, she went at it again with the full force of nature, being crowned Champion Homemaker in 2007 and again in 2009! In recent years, whenever you saw Stephanie, she was
probably wearing clothes that she made. Service to the community was part of her DNA. Stephanie became the Chelsea Farmer’s Market Manager, serving in that volunteer role for several years. Then, wanting to pass it along to someone new, she got to work writing the first grant that allowed the CFM Manager to be a paid position, which continues to this day.

Stephanie served on the Board of Directors as Treasurer for Growing Hope in Ypsilanti with a mission to fight food insecurity in Washtenaw County. And one her proudest accomplishments is being one of the founding members of 100 Women Who Care Chelsea Area giving circle. With the help of Stephanie’s “full force of nature”, that group as contributed nearly $250,000 to area non-profit organizations. And they continue to do their good work carrying on Stephanie’s love for the community and those in need.

Stephanie married Larry Doll on August 2, 2003, in Chelsea, and he survives. She is also survived by her half-brother, Gary Elliff of Cleveland, Tennessee; father-in-Law, Donald Doll of Chelsea; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betsy and Larry Hackworth of Chelsea, Jerry Doll of Huntsville, AR, Kevin Doll of Chelsea, and Cathy and Michael Norman of Stafford, VA. Stephanie was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, David Elliff.

A gathering will be held Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 10 a.m. to noon at Cole Funeral Chapel, 214 E Middle St. in Chelsea. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Chelsea.
