Of Chelsea, Michigan, age 76, passed away Monday, December 7, 2020 at her home surrounded in love by her family. She was born October 25, 1944 in Dexter, Michigan, the daughter of William and Grace (Koch) Ledwidge. She was raised on her family’s centennial farm in Dexter, of which she was so proud and truly loved.
Veronica graduated from Dexter High School in 1962. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea for about 45 years. Veronica’s Catholic faith guided her soul all her life and that continues in the fabric of her family, which was so important to her. She retired from University of Michigan in 2007. After retirement she enjoyed making stained glass for her family members. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, baking and watching the blue birds and hummingbirds around her home. Veronica loved her grandkids and enjoyed following all their sports and activities.

On April 21st, 1967, she married William Donald Paddock and he survives. They shared 53 beautiful years of love and laughter together. Other survivors include her son, Brett (Cynthia) Paddock of Michigan Center, three daughters, Tina (Todd) Doering also of Michigan Center, Beth (Dean) Boote of Gregory, and Jenny (Rich) Samon of Chelsea; one surviving family member, her sister, Marie Coy of Michigan Center; her grandchildren, Alex and Dawson Doering, Grace Boote, Colin and Nathan Paddock, Logan, Ella, Ava, Garrett and Harper Samon and her great grandson, Westley Collins. Veronica was preceded in death by her grandson, Jake Boote as well as her siblings, Norman, Joseph, Edwin, Jack, Cecilia and Elizabeth.

A funeral mass will be held Friday, December 11, 11:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea, with V. Rev. Dr. William J Canon Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Chelsea. The family will receive friends from 10-11 before the funeral. Memorial contributions may be made to Arbor Hospice, 2366 Oak Valley Drive, Ann Arbor, MI 48103.  The family would like to thank Sondra, Lauren, and Becky as well as all of the wonderful hospice and care giver staff that provided loving care for Veronica during this last year.  Arrangements were entrusted to Cole Funeral Chapel.

I m so sorry for your loss. My last time I seen her was at one of our coworkers retirement. I was so happy to see her. She was a good worker at University of Michigan Fin Ops. My thoughts and prayers to family Paddock.

I am very sad to hear this. She was a great person. We both worked at the U of M. We would meet in Ann Arbor occasionally for lunch. May she rest in peace.
