Age 89, died Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Legacy Assisted Living in Jackson. She was born July 16, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Moses & Mary (Horvath) Gombkoto.  Gloria lived in River Rouge, Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, and Westland, before moving to Chelsea in 1991.  She graduated from River Rouge High School, and  worked at Kresge and Manufactures National Bank in Dearborn. Gloria was a longtime member of Atonement Lutheran Church in Dearborn and was a member of the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed cooking, reading, ceramics and gardening.   

    On June 14, 1952, she married Nicholas Cook at Atonement Lutheran Church in Dearborn, and he preceded her in death on March 16, 2015.  Survivors include a son, Scott Nicholas (Bonnie) Cook of Chelsea; a daughter, Lisa Ann Cook of Chelsea;  two grandchildren, Ryan Nicholas Cook and Ashley Cook; 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws, and a sister, Velma June Gombkoto.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be made to Huron Valley Humane Society or Wilson's Disease.  Arrangements were entrusted to Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea.
