of Chelsea, Michigan, age 92, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018 at Silver Maples of Chelsea. She was born September 16, 1926 in Ypsilanti, Michigan, the daughter of Gillman and Grace (Allison) Mullreed.
Marilyn grew up in Belleville, graduating from Belleville High School in the Class of 1944. After attending Cleary College, she worked for Belleville Bank and the City of Ypsilanti. Marilyn was active at First Congregational Church, serving on the Board of Deacons, as Church Clerk, and on many committees, including the Memorials Committee and Missions Committee. She played in numerous Bridge clubs and enjoyed Euchre. She often spent summers at Higgins Lake.
She married Sylvester Wojcicki on November 29, 1946 in Belleville, MI, and he preceded her in death on February 26, 1988. Survivors include her 5 children, Carol (David) Baran of Higgins Lake, MI; their sons, David (Julie) and great-grandsons Levi, Hudson, & Reid, and Jim; Thomas (Susan) Wojcicki of Metamora, MI, and their children, Mike, Rob, & Laura (Justin Dickey) Wojcicki; James (Jacquelyn) of Bradenton, FL their children, Matt, Mark & Rachel; Robert (Ingrid Verhagen) of St. Paul, MN, their children, Anna & Isaac; David (Amy) of Ludington, MI, their children, Bennett, Cooper & Owen; several nieces and nephews, including her dear niece, Pamela Reitmeyer and her sons, Daniel and Michael. She was preceded in death by her sister, Phyllis Figg. Marilyn’s family expresses sincere gratitude to the staff of Silver Maples and Arbor Hospice for the care she received.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec 3, 2018, 11:00 am at the First Congregational Church in Chelsea, with Pastor Joe Jeffreys officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove East Cemetery in Chelsea. The family will receive friends at Cole Funeral Chapel Sunday 3-6 pm and at the church Monday 10-11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church or the charity of your choice.
