of Chelsea, MI, age 81, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at her home. She was born July 12, 1936 in Cameron, Illinois, the daughter of William Albert and Anna Linnea (Johnson) Hawkins Sr. Marilyn has resided in Washtenaw County since 1957. She was the owner and operator of Marilyn Mark's Hair Stylists in Ann Arbor from 1958 up until her death. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Muskegon.
On March 2, 1957, she married David Lewis Mark in Muskegon, MI, and he preceded her in death on April 4, 2001. Survivors include her son, Damon (Cynthia) Mark of Chelsea; a grandson, David Mark of Chelsea; one sister, Marthea Brewer of Grand Rapids; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 1 brother, William A. Hawkins Jr.; and 2 sisters, Patricia Repo and Barbara Underwood.
A memorial service will be held Monday, January 22, 11:00 am at Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea. The family will receive friends 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Epworth Methodist Church, 3939 N High Bridge Rd, Brethren, MI 49619.
