of Ann Arbor, MI, formerly of Chelsea, age 85, died Saturday, November 18, 2017 in Ann Arbor. She was born February 26, 1932 in Chelsea, Michigan, the daughter of Clare & Mamie (Drew) Tuttle. Mrs. Freeland was a social workers for 20 years, working in grief counseling, Special Olympics, and Safe House for battered women. She did treatment and training for the mentally impaired.
On November 3,1950, she married Howard Freeland in Grass Lake, MI, and he preceded her in death on June 10, 1989. Survivors include a son, John Freeland of Ann Arbor; two daughters, Susan Bower of Chelsea and Lela Freeland of Ann Arbor; two sisters, Nancy Freeland of Grass Lake, Ruth Nedry of Jackson; 3 grandchildren; 3 nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Harold Freeland in 1987.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 1:00 pm, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 17690 W Old US 12, Chelsea, MI 48118.
