Age 101, died Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Silver Maples of Chelsea. She was born July 26, 1921, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Alonzo and Bertha (Sawyer) Donnelly.
Marti taught at Bach Elementary and Carpenter Elementary. She was a member of the Ann Arbor City Women's Club. Marti enjoyed golfing and playing bridge. She won many bridge club tournaments. There are many fond memories of the family with Robert and Martha Torbet at the cottage in Canada. Marti was a beautiful watercolor painter.
Marti married Murry Franklin in 2006 in Chelsea, and he preceded her in death. She is survived by sons, Thomas (Mary) Torbet of Beulah, Chris (Deborah) Torbet of Chelsea & Ventura, California; daughters, Laurie Torbet of Ann Arbor, and Beth Graham also of Ann Arbor; step-son, Bill (Ann Marie) Vis of Troy; four grandchildren, Sara (Peter) Lasker, Jon (Jessica) Torbet, Megan (Brent) Duncil, Douglas Torbet; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Winthrop Donnelly.
A memorial service was held Monday, October 24, 2:00 pm at Silver Maples in Chelsea, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to Chelsea Painters, P.O. Box 202, Chelsea MI 48118. Arrangements were entrusted to Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea.
