I first met Jane in 10th grade English class at LHS. As seniors at Univ of Michigan, Jane and I shared an apartment in a house on East U (and just down the street from my future spouse, Joe). After college, we’d touch base a few times a year, mainly to see movies or discuss books while enjoying a visit to a new restaurant. And we made it a yearly plan to meet at a favorite restaurant downtown to celebrate our (nearly identical) birthdays. Jane loved gardens and gardening books, and loved sitting on the deck overlooking her beautiful back yard. She loved to cook and collecting special recipes. She enjoyed interesting movies and novels, was an avid supporter of the local PBS station. Jane was proud to have made real progress on upgrades to her lovely house; I wish she had had more time to complete the additional renovations she had been so excited about doing. In her last days at home Jane was pleased the daffodils she'd planted were sprouting again. I'll miss our friendship, Jane.

Jane has been my dear and loyal friend since we met in high school. We shared a love of art, reading, nature, flowers, and cooking. Jane was a talented seamstress and she gifted me with hand sewn items over the years. She grew up as a next door neighbor to my late husband's family the VanHuysens. Jane you have been a gift to me and l thank you for all you've done to make my life better because I knew you.
