Obituaries

of Chelsea, Michigan, formerly of Livonia, age 80, died Saturday, July 16, 2016 at his home in Chelsea. He was born September 3, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Frank & Lottie (Surowiec) Wudyka.

 Lawrence attended Chadsey High School.  He served in the US Army from 1954-56 in France. Lawrence worked for Chrysler at Sterling Stamping, retiring in May of 1995. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus (3rd degree), Holy Cross Council, and a past Grand Commander of the former Seville Caravan of the International Order of Alhambra. Lawrence attended St. Aidan in Livonia, and St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea.

 

   Lawrence is survived by his wife, Virginia, and his family: son Lawrence C. (Diane) Wudyka of Waterford; two daughters, Suzanne (Scott) Gardner of Grand Rapids, Kathy (Jim) Callery of Chelsea, grandchildren, Lindsay, Tiffany, Kailey, Joe, Jeff, Maureen, John, Carolyn; two great grandchildren, Edelynn, Jameson, two more on the way; and brother, Edwin Wudyka of Englewood, FL.  He was preceded in death by his parents and twin brother, Frank.

A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, July 23, 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Chelsea, with Fr. David Stawasz officiating.  Burial will be at St Hedwig, Dearborn, at a later date. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 before the funeral. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Louis Center of Chelsea. Arrangements by Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea.
