Obituaries

of Grass Lake, MI, formerly of Dearborn and Chelsea, age 68, died suddenly Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at his home. He was born September 29, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of John M. & Amelia (Bates) McEachern.

Lee graduated from Dearborn High School in 1964, and attended Ferris State for one year. He served in US Army with the101st Airborne in Vietnam, earning a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. After his service, he graduated with a Bachelors Degree from Cleary College.  Lee worked for the Ford Motor Company for 32 years. He spent most of his career at the Sheldon Road plant in Plymouth, retiring as Production Control Manager. Lee was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Michigan Center.  He loved his cabin up north, and working on building projects. Lee always had a good sense of humor. He will be most remembered for his modesty and kindness.

On April 3, 1970, he married Gayle Loftus and she survives. Other survivors include a son, Michael (Nona) McEachern of Ft. Wayne, IN; a daughter, Jennifer (Arun Ramasamy) McEachern of Chelsea; a brother, John (Diane) McEachern of Brighton; a sister, Jill (“Butch”) Wilhoit of Ellettsville, IN; four grandchildren, Autumn, Morgan, Ajay, Joey; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, July 2, 11:00 am at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Michigan Center, with Fr. Timothy MacDonald officiating.  Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Grass Lake, Michigan. The family will receive friends at Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea on Friday 4-8 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
