Obituaries

of Chelsea, Michigan, age 72, went to be with the Lord Saturday, May 7, 2016 with her family by her side at her home in Chelsea, Michigan. She was born January 26, 1944 in New York City to Holt "Pete" and Kathryn Andrews. Pat grew up in Albion, New York where she met her high school sweetheart Vincent. They both attended Alfred University in New York where Pat earned her BSRN. After graduating in 1966, Pat married her love of eight years, Vince, on June 11, 1966.

Shortly after they were married, Pat and Vince moved to Dearborn, Michigan to pursue careers and begin what became a lifetime of happiness. Pat worked as a Public Health Nurse for the City of Detroit.  In 1977, they chose Chelsea to build their home and raise their family, and Pat became a fulltime wife and mother of two children.

Pat was active in her community and served on the Lima Township Board of Review. She loved Michigan and delighted in visiting its many lighthouses. An avid gardener, bird watcher, and cook, Pat's real and abiding passions were her family and friends. Pat sought to instill in her children a commitment to family, faith, and the power of optimism.

Pat is survived by her husband of 50 years, Vincent Spade. Other survivors include two children, Dawn (Dan) Burnham of Suffield, CT and Mike Spade of New Hudson, MI; a sister, Sally (Stan) Achey of Middletown Springs, VT; one grandchild, Anna Burnham; and several nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved and touched deeply.

A memorial service to celebrate her life was held on Friday afternoon May 13, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea Michigan. Her family received friends at Cole Funeral Chapel on Thursday 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Pat's name to the American Cancer Society by visiting https://donate.cancer.org/index or calling 800-227-2345.
