Passed away at age 80 in Alapaha, GA on Monday, February 29, 2016. He was born July 4, 1935, the son of Robert and Bertha (Hanselman) Snay. Surviving is one son Michael (Shannon) Snay of Dowagiac; three daughters: Cheryl (Jamie) Batdorff of Munith, Barbara (Terry) Baldwin of Pleasant Lake, and Becky Duncan of Jackson; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, sisters Evelyn DuPree of Ann Arbor and Louise (Walter) Page of Dexter. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Leroy Snay of Arkansas and Dwaine Snay of Dexter.
Leland served in Korean War, Sargent, 1st Batallion, 26th Infantry. He was a brick and stone mason by trade in the Ann Arbor area. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 8, 11:00 am at Cole Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Ann Salyer officiating. The family received friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A private military burial will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Dexter, MI. Arrangements by Cole Funeral Chapel.
