of Grass Lake, MI, age 18, died Thursday, March 26, 2015 due to an automobile accident. She was born July 26, 1996 in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of Jean-Louis Gerard & Lindy (DuBois) Williams.
Katie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She graduated from Beacon Day Treatment/Annapolis High School and was currently attending Jackson College, and working at Country Market in Chelsea. Katie loved making jewelry with beads, reading, and walking in natural areas. She had a sharp wit and was fun to be around. Katie aspired to be a social worker and help kids.
Survivors include her mother, Lindy Williams and step-father, Edward Williams of Grass Lake; her father, Jean-Louis Gerard of Belle River, Ontario; her grandparents, Gilbert & Maxine DuBois; her brother, Todd Heslop; her sisters Darlene Greenbird, Alyssa Gerard; step-sisters, Carolyn & Michael Fetner, Kristen Williams; aunts and uncles, Michelle & Mark Wrubel, Jennifer & Andy Zalinski, Vicki Allison & Staci Loszewski; cousins, Jack & John Zalinski, Destiny & Skyler Sparks; a niece, Aubrey, and a nephew, Brayden. She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Sandy Storms and Mary DuBois.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 31, 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1330 N Freer Rd, Chelsea. Burial followed at Oak Grove East Cemetery, Chelsea. The family received friends at Cole Funeral Chapel Sunday 2-6 pm and Monday 2-4 & 6-8 pm.
