of Chelsea, Michigan, age 83, died Sunday, March 1, 2015 at his home at Silver Maples of Chelsea. He was born May 5, 1931 in Highland, Michigan, the son of Alvin & Martha (Temperley) Donovan.
David had lived in Chelsea since 1972. He was a member of the Detroit Society of Engineers. David was a former Kiwanis club member, serving as President of the Chelsea Kiwanis club from 1988-89. He retired from Ford Motor Company as a manufacturing research engineer.
He is survived by a son, Bruce (Kathy) Donovan of Brighton; two daughters, Kathleen (Donald) Canham of Pinckney, Sharon Donovan of Ann Arbor; a grandson, Kelly Donovan; and nephew & niece, David & Linda von Walthausen. He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Jill & Rudolph von Walthausen.
A memorial service was held Saturday, March 7, 11:00 am at Silver Maples, Chelsea, with Rev. Kathy Schell officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Salvation Army. Arrangements by Cole Funeral Chapel.
