Obituaries

of Chelsea, Michigan, formerly of Redford Township,  age 95, died Friday, January 16, 2015 at Chelsea Retirement Community. He was born May 1, 1919 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the son of Christopher DeLoss & Georgia (Gorrell) Bovee.

Christopher attended Redford High School.  During WWII, he served in the Army as a mechanic and MP.    He worked for the Detroit News/Free Press in printing & distribution.  Christopher owned Silver Bell Ranch at Plymouth and Telegraph, and helped his mom at Fenrock Confectionary in Detroit.  He owned Christy's Service Center in Detroit from 1952-2003.  Chris loved boating, motorcycles, golf and horses.

On April 9, 1948, he married Nancy Joan Anderson in Detroit, and she preceded him in death on May 18, 1981.   Survivors include a daughter, Laura (Les) Jackson of Brooklyn, MI; a son, Bruce (Debi) Bovee of Livonia; four grandchildren, Danielle (Andy) Domzalski, Katelin Bovee, Amy (Jeff) Miller, Christina (Marty) Beck; and four great-grandchildren, Ava, Brielle, Alana, and Brayden. He was preceded in death by a brother, Stewart, and a half-brother, Howard.

A memorial service was held Saturday, February 21, 11 am at Chelsea Retirement Community. Memorial contributions may be made to Arbor Hospice or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
