Obituaries

of Jackson, MI, age 74, died Saturday, September 6, 2014 at University of Michigan Hospital. He was born June 22, 1940 in Manchester, MI, the son of Reuben and Luella (Katz) Wolff.

 Norm was in the National Guard from 1960-64. He retired from Dana Corporation in Chelsea in 1994.   Norm was currently a member of Vandercook Missionary Church in Vandercook Lake, MI.  He was a former member and Trustee of the Grass Lake United Methodist Church; and enjoyed attending Promise Keepers.  Norm was a very active member of Alcoholics Anonymous, and is now a recovered alcoholic.  He enjoyed his tractors, camping, fishing, and was an avid walker.


   On September 15, 1962, he married Linda Cook in Ann Arbor, MI, and she survives. Other survivors include his son Dwayne (Nejla) of Chicago, IL; two daughters Jennifer (Paul) Heimerdinger of Manchester, MI, Lisa Wolff of Jackson; one sister, Shirley Braaksma of Lebanon, IN; one brother, Lavern (Jo Ann) Wolff of Piggott, AR; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Duane, and one sister Elaine Knepper.

   Funeral services were held Saturday, September 13, 11:00 am at Vandercook Missionary Church, Vandercook Lake, MI, with Pastor Tom Burgett officiating.  Burial will be at Oak Grove East Cemetery in Chelsea at a later date.  The family received friends at Cole Funeral Chapel, Friday 2-4 & 6-8 pm.  Memorial contributions may be made to Vandercook Missionary Church or the American Cancer Society.
