Gunderson, Brian G.
of Chelsea,
MI, "Mr.
G" aka "D", age 58, passed away at his home on the evening of
July 29, 2006. His caring family was at his side. He lost his long, courageous
battle with cancer after fourteen years. He was born on October 6, 1947, in
Evanston, IL, the son of Glenn O. and Francis (Mueller) Gunderson. Brian
owned Wazoo Records in Ann Arbor for 20 years. He was active in the First
United Methodist Church, teaching Sunday school in the Middle School class. He
was a member of Inverness Country Club, and was active in Ann Arbor City
Tennis Tournament. Brian volunteered for many community organizations,
including Arbor Hospice, Detroit Woman's Shelter, Habitat for Humanity, and as
a child advocate for Washtenaw County Courts. He was a funny, generous man who
touched people in a positive way. He was loved by many and respected by
more for his genuine appreciation of thoughtfulness and self improvement. Also
his positive attitude, relentless sarcasm and the long drives down the middle
of the fairway! His philanthropic efforts and never ending quest to find the
truth and compassion in what we often describe as an unfair and often cruel
world. He was a graceful man and as vibrant as a autumn leaf and always
optimistic towards the new life which blooms after the cold, wintry days we
sometimes struggle thru. His golden smile and his witty humor brought sunshine
to many cloudy hearts. He taught us that life is in the details, but also that
we can’t appreciate their meaning unless we step back and look at the
"big picture". He
